The 17th Workshop on Shielding Aspects of Accelerators, Targets, and Irradiation Facilities (SATIF-17) will be held at the IBS Science Culture Center of Daejeon, Korea on 20-22 Oct. 2026, and will be hosted jointly by the Institute for Rare Isotope Science (IRIS) and Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL) supported by Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) and DAEJEON Tourism Organization.

Following the original spirit of the SATIF workshop, main objectives are: 

  • promoting the information exchange among experts in the field of accelerator shielding and related topics;
  • identifying areas where international cooperation can be fruitful;
  • creating task forces in order to achieve progress in specific priority areas.
