Parallel Session

This session is consisted of four parallel sessions depending on the topic. We hope that more practical discussions would be done from each session.

  • Ultrafast Photo-induced Dynamics in Condensed Matter at PAL-XFEL
(Convener : Hoyoung Jang and Sae Hwan Chun)
In this session, we intend to bring together researchers stuyding ultrafast photo-induced dynamics in condensed matter. This session will highlight the scientific opportunities available at PAL-XFEL, review the current status of experimental facilities, and gather insights through user feedback.

  • Exploring Chemical Reaction Dynamics with PAL-XFEL : A Symposium for Young Scientists
(Convener : Jae Hyuk Lee and Sang Han Park)
We're very excited to bring together young scientists working on ultrafast chemical reaction dynamics. We'll take a look at the current state of experimental setups at PAL-XFEL, such as time-resolved X-ray spectroscopy and time-resolved X-ray liquidography, and discuss ongoing research.

  • Advancing Toward a Successful SFX Experiment and Data Processing
    (Convener : Sang Jae Lee)
In this session, we aim to clearly and simply explain the process of studying protein structures - from sample preparation to data collection using the SFX (Serial Femtosecond Crystallography) technique, and fianlly data analysis. We will also have a Q&A and discussion session to address any questions or topics of interest.

  • Discussion on Imaging Science in PAL-XFEL
(Convener : Sunam Kim and Sang Han Park)
In this session, discussions will be held on two imaging techniques based on the PAL-XFEL source: Bragg Coherent X-ray Diffraction and Dark Field Imaging. A brief explanation of the imaging techniques, principles and equipment will be provided. Afterwards, we will discuss the future direction of imaging techniques.

Poster Session

  • Create and print your poster
The poster should follow the traditional printed format, and as long as readability is observed, you may choose between usual formats. We suggest following the traditional A0 portrait, or a similar format around 80 cm x 120 cm.
  • Set up your poster
The printed poster should be set up by July 2nd.
  • Present your poster in person
Poster presenters are required to stand by the poster during the scheduled duration of the poster session to answer questions from attendees.
  • One-minute poster pitches
Presenters are required to summarize the content of their posters within one minute. Only those who make these presentations will be considered for the Excellent Poster Award. The one-minute pitches will take place on the day before the poster session, and presenters are required to use the provided presentation template. By June 28th, the presenters must send their presentation materials for one-minute pitches to the designated email address (kosua-office@postech.ac.kr). The presentation materials should consist of a maximum of two slides and be in PDF format.
    • The template can be downloaded at HERE.
